What Causes Repetitive Motion Injuries?

Movement is often good for people, but too much of it can be a dreadful thing. An example would be repetitive motion injuries sustained by doing something repeatedly. Even seemingly harmless movements could bring about pain and misery.

There is nothing inherently bad about movement. In fact, our bodies can adapt to stimuli such that we should get stronger after every move. Weight-lifting, for instance, causes micro tears in the muscles but we can always bounce back and built bigger muscles after a period of rest. So, what causes repetitive motion injuries?

Sadly, the necessary rest period may not be available to everyone. Workers may simply accumulate damage to overused body parts day in and day out until these get too painful for them to work anymore. Trauma, friction, systemic diseases, and crystal deposits can also cause repetitive motion injuries.
